Govt Steps up Crime Prevention during Songkran Holidays

The Tourism and Sports Minister and the Tourist Police are overseeing extra efforts to prevent crime during the Songkran festival. Tourism and Sports Minister Chumpol Silapa-archa , Commissioner of the Central Investigation Police Bureau Police Lieutenant General Ta-ngai Prasajarksuttru and Tourist Police Division Chief Major General Adis Ngamjitsuksri presided over a ceremony marking special efforts to prevent crime and help tourists during this year's Songkran holidays in Bangkok. Special attention is being given to crime prevention during the long holidays, when both Thai and foreign tourists will be in Bangkok. As a result, police have taken extra measures to prevent crimes and accidents during the holidays.
